倫敦2012殘疾人奧運會    London 2012 Paralympic Games

早在1948年，首個專為殘疾人士而設的運動會於英國史篤曼維爾舉行，而今屆殘奧在英國倫敦舉行，很多人認為是回到殘疾人運動的發源地。這亦是繼1984年英國史篤曼維爾市與紐約合辦殘奧會後，英國再次成為殘疾人奧運會的主辦國。2012年8月29日至9月9日來自160個國家及地區，超過4200世界級運動員將於20個運動項目一較高下。

The London 2012 Paralympic Games will take place from 29 August to 9 September which signings the Paralympic Movement returning to the country of its spiritual birthplace as the first competition for wheelchair athletes was held in 1948 in Stoke Mandeville, England. The Paralympic Games came to Britain for the first time in 1984, when Stoke Mandeville co-hosted the Games with New York.

London Paralympic Games will be the biggest Paralympic Games ever featuring 4,200 athletes from 160 countries who will compete in 20 sports.

倫敦2012殘疾人奧運會口號為『啟發這一代』，它彰顯了殘疾運動的體育精神；各運動員將透過比賽平台，向觀眾展現殘疾人運動核心價值:『勇氣』、『決心』、『啟發』及『平等』。

The motto 'Inspire a generation' captures the spirit and essence of the games and it is a good reminder of how sports alter one. The London 2012 Paralympic Games will as the showcase for the world’s great Paralympic athletes to show the Paralympic core values of courage, determination, inspiration and equality.

倫敦2012殘奧會將是香港自1972年第十 一次派出代表團參加的殘疾人奧運會，港隊將派出28名運動員，參與七個比賽大項，包括：田徑、硬地滾球、馬術、射擊、游泳、乒乓球、輪椅劍擊，與世界各地頂尖運動員一較高下。

Hong Kong will participate in its eleventh consecutive Games since 1972 in the upcoming London 2012 Paralympic Games. A total of 28 athletes will take part in 7 events, namely Athletics, Boccia, Equestrian, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Wheelchair Fencing.
